Fiance Visa Processing Time: Your Own Wait Tracker
Your own dates, each stage, and when you could be together.
Quick answer
US K-1 fiance visa processing time is roughly 10 to 15 months from filing to visa in hand (Ashoori Law, October 2026), and a UK partner visa decision comes about 12 weeks after biometrics (GOV.UK). Enter your route and filing date above to see the months you could be together, mark stages as they happen, and send the tracker to your partner. These are estimates, not legal advice.
A US K-1 fiance visa takes about 10 to 15 months from filing to visa in hand, according to immigration lawyers at Ashoori Law (October 2026), and some firms report longer. A UK partner visa decision takes about 12 weeks after biometrics, says GOV.UK. Australian and Canadian partner routes often take 18 months or more. Pick your route above, enter your own date, and the tracker turns those ranges into real dates for your case.
How does the visa wait tracker work?
- Pick your route. US K-1 or CR-1, UK spouse, Australia 309 or 820, Canada, or another country with your own numbers.
- Enter your filing date. The card shows the months you could be together, the days you have waited and how many are left.
- Tap "It happened" when a stage is done. Enter the real date and the estimate moves to match. This is the part law firm articles cannot do.
- Tap a range to change it. If the official tool shows a different number for your service center or consulate, use that one.
- Send it to your partner. The link holds your dates, so they see the same tracker with no account.
Why do the numbers disagree?
Different sources measure different things. For the I-129F alone, Ashoori Law quotes a USCIS median of 8.0 months for fiscal year 2026, while other firms still say 12. Some totals stop at the visa, others at arrival. The State Department publishes no K-1 consulate time, so those parts are lawyers' estimates. That is why each stage here shows where its range comes from, and why you can change it.
The ranges this tracker uses, checked November 3, 2026:
- US K-1: 10 to 15 months to the visa, from Ashoori Law (law firm, Oct 2026). Firms that report 12 months for the I-129F alone would make it longer.
- US CR-1: 16 to 35 months to the visa: our sum of the stage ranges from Manifest Law (law firm, Sept 2026), which says most I-130 petitions finish in 12 to 18 months. It also reports that the official USCIS tool showed 53 to 83.5 months for a citizen's spouse in November 2026, so check your own case there.
- UK spouse: 12 weeks from biometrics to a decision (the tracker shows up to 17 weeks, our padding for slow cases), from GOV.UK (official, Sept 9, 2026).
- Australia 309 and 820: half of cases decided in 21 and 22 months, 90% in 32 and 30 months, from Home Affairs data as at October 19, 2026, as published by RACC (migration agents). The tracker uses 21 to 32 and 22 to 30 months.
- Canada, outside and inside: about 18 and 26 months to the final decision (the tracker shows 3 months either side, our padding), from Go Far Global (consultants reading IRCC data, Oct 9, 2026). Outside Quebec.
Compare uses these same ranges. The big date on the card also adds travel time to moving day, and it says so. If you apply from inside the country, it counts to the decision.
Official tools change monthly: USCIS, Home Affairs and IRCC. Trust them over this page.
How do you get through the wait?
- Stop refreshing the case status. Mark stages here when they happen, and check the official page once a month.
- Keep a small daily call. Ten minutes is enough. Our long distance relationship tips explain why.
- Keep visiting if you can. The long distance visit planner shows how many trips fit your budget, and the countdown gives you a date to look forward to.
- Do something together on calls. Try our video call ideas or long distance date ideas. The tracker gives you a new idea each week.
What are the limits?
- This is not legal advice. It adds up typical ranges. It cannot see your case, and it does not know about requests for evidence, administrative processing or policy changes.
- It has no live data. The ranges were checked on the date shown and do not update by themselves.
- Your data stays with you. Dates are saved in this browser. The share link holds them too, so only send it to people you trust.
- If something looks wrong with your case, talk to a licensed immigration lawyer or a registered migration agent.
FAQ
How long does a fiance visa take?
For a US K-1, roughly 10 to 15 months from filing Form I-129F to the visa in hand, according to Ashoori Law in October 2026. Some firms report longer. Times differ by service center and consulate, so check the USCIS tool and enter your own numbers in the tracker.
Is a K-1 or a CR-1 spouse visa faster?
On the ranges we found, K-1 is faster to arrival, but a CR-1 spouse lands with a green card, while a K-1 fiance still has to marry and then file for one. Open Compare routes in the tracker to see both from the same date.
How long does a UK spouse visa take?
GOV.UK gives 12 weeks for a partner or spouse decision when applying from outside the UK, counted from your biometrics appointment or ID check. It can take longer in complex cases.
How long is the partner visa wait in Australia?
Home Affairs data as at October 19, 2026, published by the migration agents RACC, shows half of offshore subclass 309 cases decided in 21 months and 90% in 32, and half of onshore subclass 820 cases in 22 months and 90% in 30. Figures change monthly, so check the Home Affairs global processing times page.
Can this tell me exactly when my visa will arrive?
No. It adds up typical ranges and moves the estimate when you enter real dates. Nobody outside the agency can give an exact date, and this is not legal advice.
Is my information private?
Yes. Your dates stay in your browser and are not sent to us. A link you share holds the dates you entered, so only send it to your partner or someone you trust.
