Countdown Until I See You: A Countdown Timer to Your Date
Days, sleeps and calls left until you meet, in both your time zones. Send it to them.
Quick answer
Set the date and time you meet. The countdown shows days, hours, minutes and seconds, plus sleeps left, weekends apart and calls left. Add both cities and it shows the moment in both local times. Tap Share to send your partner the same countdown or save a story image. Each day it unlocks one question, mini game or visit plan for your call.
This free countdown timer to a date shows exactly how long until you see your partner: days, hours, minutes and seconds, plus sleeps left, weekends apart and calls left at your usual call time. Set the date, tap Share, and your partner opens the same countdown on their phone in their own time zone. Every day it unlocks one small thing to do on your call. No sign-up, nothing to install.
How does the countdown work?
- Pick the date and time you meet. Or tap a quick date: in 2 weeks, Thanksgiving, winter break, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day or spring break. Breaks differ by school, so adjust those to yours.
- Living in different time zones? Add both cities and say whose clock the meeting time is on. If the flight lands at 6 pm in London, pick their clock and enter 6 pm. The card then shows the moment in both local times.
- Add names, the last time you saw each other and your usual call time if you want. You get a bar that fills from goodbye to hello, and the number of calls left.
- Share it. Send the link, or save an image for your story or lock screen. The date lives in the link itself, so it works without an account.
The countdown is saved on your phone. Open this page tomorrow and it is still running, with a new unlock. You can keep several countdowns and switch between them.
What is today's unlock?
The last weeks before a visit can feel slow. Each day the countdown unlocks one small thing for your call: a question, a two-minute game or one thing to plan for the visit. It is picked by the date where you meet, so you both see the same one even across time zones. Meeting for the first time or moving in together? You get prompts made for that too. Tap We did it after your call to keep a streak going, then Tell them it is done: their countdown shows that you did it, so you both know. Want more for your calls? See our video call ideas and questions to ask your partner.
Can I print a countdown calendar?
Yes. Tap Print a color-a-heart calendar. You get one page with one outline heart for each day until you meet, each with its date, light on ink. Color one in every night. Save it as a PDF from the print dialog if you want to send it.
What should we do while we wait?
- Plan one thing each for the visit. One place, one meal or one movie. Having a plan makes the date feel real.
- Keep a short daily call. Ten minutes is enough. Our long distance tips explain why small, regular calls help more than rare long ones.
- Have a date night before the date. Pick one from our long distance date ideas.
- Count the time you already have. Our how long have we been together counter shows your days together and the days you spent in the same place.
What are the limits?
- The countdown lives in your browser. If you clear your browser data or switch phones, open the link you sent to get it back.
- Anyone with the link can see the date and the names you typed. Only share it with your partner.
- It does not send notifications. Tap Calendar for a calendar file with the day you meet and, if you set a call time, a nightly reminder that today's unlock is ready.
- Time zones and daylight saving come from your browser, so the times are right for every city your phone knows.
FAQ
How do I make a countdown until I see my boyfriend or girlfriend?
Enter the date and time you meet in the tool above and tap Start the countdown. It counts down in days, hours, minutes and seconds, and shows sleeps left and weekends apart. Tap Share, then Send link, to give your partner the same countdown.
Does the countdown work across time zones?
Yes. Add your city and theirs, then say whose clock the meeting time is on. The countdown runs to that exact moment and shows it in both local times, so a 6 pm landing in London also shows as 1 pm in New York.
How many sleeps until I see you?
Sleeps are the nights left before the day you meet, counted on your calendar. The countdown shows them next to the days, along with the weekends apart and, if you add your usual call time, the calls left.
Do we need an account or an app?
No. The countdown runs in your browser. Your date is saved on your phone only, and the shared link holds the date itself, so nothing is stored on a server.
Can I put the countdown on my lock screen or story?
Tap Share, then Save image. Pick Lock screen for a phone wallpaper that leaves room for the clock, Story for a 9:16 story, or Post for a 4:5 post, in one of four colors. The image shows the days left, the meeting time and how far you are from goodbye to hello.
What should we do while we count down?
Use today's unlock on your call: one question, mini game or visit plan a day, the same for both of you. Small, regular moments of attention are what relationship researchers at the Gottman Institute call turning toward each other.
