Hinge Prompt Answers You Fill In
Tap a purple word, type yours, copy.
Quick answer
Pick one of 63 Hinge prompts and a tone: funny, warm, direct or quirky. You get a ready answer with blanks. Tap each purple word, type your own detail, and copy the answer into Hinge. Save three to My profile below the card, then send the link to a friend and ask which one they would reply to. The same tool has first messages for a match and short bios for Tinder or Bumble.
The best Hinge prompt answers are short, specific and easy to reply to: one real detail from your life and one thing for a match to ask about. The 315 answer patterns above cover 63 prompts. None of them is meant to be copied as is: change the purple words until the answer is true for you.
How does it work?
- Pick a prompt. Search all 63 or tap Random. Prompts are grouped into about me, opinions and quirks, stories, dating, and games and hooks.
- Pick a tone. Funny, warm, direct or quirky. Each tone is a different answer, not the same line with a new word. Funny has two answers per prompt.
- Fill the blanks. Every purple word is an example. Replace it with your own: your dish, your city, your weird hobby. The counter shows the 150 character limit.
- Save three to My profile below the card. Hinge shows three prompts. Add your favorites, then tap Ask a friend which one is best to send them a link with all three. For a quick opinion on one answer, tap Ask a friend under the card.
Under each card you see a reply a match could send, with your details in it. If you cannot imagine anyone replying to your answer, add one more specific detail.
What makes a Hinge answer get replies?
- One real detail. "I geek out on bread, my starter is named Doughlene" is a conversation. "I like cooking" is not.
- Something to ask about. Leave a small open question: a story you have not finished, a ranking, a challenge.
- Short. One or two sentences. Most strong answers use well under the 150 characters.
- A mix. Pick one funny prompt, one about what you are looking for, and one game or hook like Two truths and a lie.
- Kind, not a rule list. "Green flags I look out for" works better than "Do not message me if".

What should my first message on Hinge be?
Comment on one prompt or photo and ask one specific question. "You wrote the goose incident. I need the full story" beats "hey, how is your week". Open the Openers tab above, pick the prompt you are replying to, and choose a style: curious, playful, in common, or ask out. When the chat is going well, move it forward with a plan: a day, a place, one hour. Need ideas for the chat itself? Try our 21 questions game or this or that questions, which work well over text too.
What comes after the match?
When you meet, our after first date text builder helps with the next morning text. A few dates in and wondering where it is going? Use the 'what are we' text helper. If you meet on video first, see our games to play on FaceTime.
What are the limits?
- The answers are patterns. They work best when you change the purple words to things that are true for you.
- Hinge adds and retires prompts. If yours is not here, pick the closest one: most patterns fit similar prompts.
- Your answers and profile are saved in this browser only. Clear your browser data and they are gone.
- The friend link holds your three answers and first name. Only send it to people you trust.
FAQ
What are good Hinge prompt answers?
Good answers are specific, short and easy to reply to. Name a real detail from your life (a dish, a place, a habit) and leave one thing for a match to ask about. "Farmers market at 9, nap at 2, a serious lasagna project by 6" works better than "I love food and naps".
How long can a Hinge prompt answer be?
Hinge prompt answers have a 150 character limit, and a profile shows three of them. The counter on each card above turns pink if your answer goes over 150, so you can shorten a purple word before you paste it.
Which Hinge prompts are best?
Pick prompts that make you specific and make replying easy. Games and hooks like Two truths and a lie, I bet you can't, or Let's debate this topic invite a first message. Mix them: one funny, one about what you want, and one that asks the match something.
Is this a Hinge prompt generator with AI?
No. Nothing is generated while you use it: the answers are fixed patterns, edited before publishing, and the details are yours. Nothing you type is sent anywhere. It stays in your browser, so you can use it without an account.
How do I start a conversation on Hinge?
Like or comment on one prompt or photo and ask one specific question about it. Open the Openers tab above, pick the prompt you are replying to, and choose a style: curious, playful, in common, or ask out. If the chat is going well, suggest a real plan with a day and a place.
Can I use these for Tinder or Bumble?
Yes. The Bio tab has short bios in four tones for apps with an about me box, and most prompt answers work on Bumble prompts too.
